In a Bookface live session, the question was asked of Edd if he would ever team up with AK, to which Edd responded with an enthusiastic “that would be awesome.”

Two no drama guys building insanely perfect cars, cutting no corners until the job was 100%.

No middle aged douchewangs yelling at each other for 48 minutes. No artifical drama. Just cars built by gents who refuse to do anything but top notch work.

Would you watch it?

Yeah, I’d watch that.

I would watch it and record it so I could watch it again. It would be pure car porn.

I would watch it too... but it needs to be well organized. You can’t have too many chefs in the kitchen.

Definitely. It would have to be carefully executed.

That would be great they could fix every car that’s been jacked up by Garage Squad.

They would also need some sort of a theme. Why are they fixing/building these cars? Is it an event? Auction? Profit from selling later? Maybe we give them a deadline. Make them hurry a bit so viewers aren’t bored.

Good god, I think this is the exact conversation Car Show producers have before they make a show.... Fire all of them. ALL OF THEM

I feel like having these two working on the same car could get a little weird, and there would be a lot of butting heads on what to do. Reason being they’re both equally talented builders and are used to being the lead on the build side of things. Now if this were to be a show where they both built their own car in some sort of competition, I think that could work well. Maybe like a combination of Junkyard Wars and whatever that show was that came on after Top Gear a year or two ago.

If that’s the show I’m thinking of, I hate it. I saw an episode on a Grand National. It seemed like nearly 20 minutes into the show before they even turned the first wrench on the car.

That’s an interesting point. I suppose they could each alternate being the sort of project lead.

I would soooo watch this. It would be awesome to see them take appreciating neglected enthusiast cars, bring them back to nice OEM spec, show the processes along the way, and then possibly resell them for a profit. Or no profit - who really cares?

Wait...isn’t that what Wheeler Dealers used to be?

Yep. Back before Velocity got their mits on it and they were squeaking out £500 profits.

These two, on the same show, doing what they love and doing it the way they want it done, would be a thing to behold.

In my dreams, it would be the car show I want to watch always. I’m sure a network would find a way to destroy it, though.

I would most definitely watch this. Aaron is very talented and really knows what he is doing. Same with Edd. Putting the two together would make for a great show.

That being said, it would most likely have to be online. The shows on regular TV are still on there for a reason. People like garbage bs drama apparently.

I find myself puzzled by the extent to which Oppo dissects car tv shows. I know we’re car people but these shows do nothing for me. I often watch Velocity at the gym when I’m doing cardio but that’s with no sound and half paying attention to it.

I think the general Oppo consensus is that WD was the best automotive show because of Edd and the detail to which he explained things. In that regard it is/was unique and less manufactured for mass consumption than other auto shows. It was the purest enthusiast show available. As far as I know.

Yup. As long as they didn’t focus solely on muscle cars like every other show.

I would watch, with the healthy understanding that it would take them a whole season to do 1 car up properly. But it would definitely be worth the watch!
